Rausa Builders, Corp. was contracted to complete this residential addition in Coral Gables. The project increased the home’s living space by 600 sq. ft. This included a new 350 sq. ft. primary bedroom and a 250 sq. ft. bathroom, upgrading the home to a 4-bedroom / 3-bathroom residence.
Bedroom Addition
The primary bedroom has 4 windows and a French door to access to the pool area, allowing plenty of natural light into the new space. It also has a modern ceiling fan, 7 recessed lights and a custom-built walk-in closet.
Bathroom Addition
The new primary bathroom was designed with an Earth tone color scheme. It features green lower wall tiles with beige tiles above. A dual vanity with a marble countertop was installed along with brass basin taps. The freestanding tub also features brass bath taps and towel hanger. The Earth tone wall tiles continue into the shower enclosure where brass shower controls and shower-head were installed.
Upgrades to Existing Home
The existing parts of the home were upgraded to match the new addition. This included new flooring, baseboards, interior doors, trim and paint for the interior. On the outside, a new roof, new impact doors and windows were installed for a cohesive exterior. The property was connected to a septic tank, which the homeowner decided to abandon and connect directly to the city’s sewer lines.
